A new Chick-Fil-A sandwich is arriving Monday at select markets across the country for a test run, and it’s made from a vegetable.
Chick-Fil-A, known mostly for its chicken sandwich, has introduced the Cauliflower Sandwich on its website, which is prepared in a very similar way to the chicken sandwich.
The cauliflower is marinated, sliced, seasoned, breaded, cooked in a pressure cooker, and served between two toasted, buttered buns, along with two pickle chips.
“Guests told us they wanted to add more vegetables into their diets, and they wanted a plant-forward entrée that tasted uniquely Chick-fil-A,” Leslie Neslage, director of menu and packaging at Chick-fil-A, said on the company website. “Our new sandwich is made with the highest quality ingredients and whole vegetables.”
Neslange said the cauliflower vegetable “is the hero of our new sandwich.
Even though the sandwich is made from cauliflower, Chick-Fil-A said it isn’t considered vegetarian because the ingredients include eggs and milk, and it is prepared on countertops that haven’t been designated for strictly vegetarian dishes.
How did Chick-fil-A land upon the idea for a cauliflower sandwich?
“Our culinary team brainstormed and explored everything from mushrooms to chickpeas to chopped vegetables formed into patties, but we kept coming back to the cauliflower filet,” Stuart Tracy, the principal culinary designer for the company, told NBC DFW.
“At first bite, you can expect a lot of flavor,” Tracy said. “It’s a really delicious and satisfying sandwich.”
The Cauliflower Sandwich will be tested in the following markets beginning Monday:
- Denver
- Charleston, S.C.
- North Carolina’s Greensboro-Triad region
Who really believes that those people in the long Chick-fil-A lines are asking for a vegetable sandwich. More vegetable choices maybe ? Impossible red meat to impossible chicken? Is chick-fil-a going along to get along?
Chick-Fil-A caving-in to the radical woke Leftie environmentalist crowd? The same folks who don’t want anyone to eat meat for any reason and are determined to make meat so incredibly difficult to produce that meat will become prohibitively expensive so people will stop buying and consuming it.
It is WEF approved for peasants.
Mmm, yuck. Bet they’ll still charge the same as chicken, too.
This sounds better than eating bugs, or maybe they are using cricket flour to batter the cauliflower? Errrrp, yuk!
Cauliflower has always given me gas so I think I’ll pass on this. And to paraphrase a Wendy’s ad several years ago, “Where’s the Chick?”.
Oh my! YUK…..
I love how this dumpster posts some inane article about cauliflower and you people like the puppets you are turn it into some BS about wokeness!
When did a company adding to their product line to make more money become in-American?
Oh, no! Not cauliflower! Let’s tell companies to not offer more products that will make them more money because that is actually the American way!
Foolish nonsense.
