A shopping center on West Lovers Lane could become home to Dallas’ second Scratch Golf Club — an indoor facility designed to simulate the game in a controlled environment.

According to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, more than $223,000 in construction is planned for a unit at 5401 West Lovers Ln., a space once home to a Fit180. The retail center, The Shoppes on Lovers, is managed by InterCity Investments of Dallas.

Neither that company nor Scratch Golf Club returned messages seeking comment by the deadline provided.

Scratch Golf Club golfers choose among three paid memberships (amateur, pro, and VIP) to use the always-open facility at 2111 Flora St. With their own golf clubs, the members can reserve bays to access virtual practice ranges and tournaments and compete on PGA Tour simulators.

The Shoppes on Lovers was built in the 1940s. Today, its tenants include Campisi’s Restaurant, Dunston’s Steakhouse, Rodriguez Salon, Pilates, and Westside Kitchen & Bath. InterCity Investments also manages Dallas properties Travis Walk, Terrace House, and Westside Office. It also manages Preston Pointe Centre in Plano and Medical Mile Mall in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Dallas-based Interprise Design is listed as the design firm for the work on the new Scratch Golf Club on Lovers Lane. In North Texas, its portfolio includes Acqueon Technologies, Joeris, SlaterMatsil, Kone, SouthCross Energy, Androvett Legal Media & Marketing, Alteryx, Heritage Auctions, MB Group, DeWitt and Dunn, Worldwide Flight Services, Arnold & Itkin, and CHC Helicopter.

The renovations at the 3,342-square-foot space for the new indoor golf facility are expected to be completed next April, according to the state filing.
