The Miami-based pizzeria Mister O1, which specializes in star-shaped pizzas, is opening a new location in Grapevine next week.

On May 2, Mister O1 will be opening for customers at its second Texas restaurant, located at 129 S. Main St., Suite 155, per Culture Map Dallas.

The competition among pizzerias is already pretty tough in Dallas-Fort Worth, where one local establishment — Partenope Dallas — even made it to the list of the top 50 pizzerias in the country last year, per NBC 5.

Mister O1 has already been serving up its uniquely shaped pizzas to the area from its first Texas location at 3838 Oak Lawn Ave., Suite P175. This location opened in Dallas last October, per Culture Map Dallas.

At the helm of this growing chain is Italian master pizza chef Renato Viola, who launched Mister O1 in 2014.

Now with 13 locations running throughout the Sunshine State, Europe, and now Texas, Viola has even started to offer classes in pizza-making, per Mister O1’s website.

Those not looking to get their hands covered in flour can visit the new location in Grapevine, which will span nearly 4,000 square feet of space in what used to be a Cotton Patch Cafe location.

The new pizzeria will be able to seat 50 guests inside, plus eight more on the patio.

John LaBarge, the former vice president of the franchise Corner Bakery Cafe, is largely responsible for bringing Mister O1 to Dallas-Fort Worth.

Partnering up with Mister O1, LaBarge helped launch its first Texas establishment last year at Turtle Creek Shopping Village.

“We’ve had such a positive response from Dallasites at our Turtle Creek location, and we are looking forward to providing a new area in DFW with a taste of our pizzas,” said LaBarge in a release, per Culture Map Dallas.

This first location has given Dallasites a taste of Italy by serving up 13-inch or 8-inch traditional and specialty pizzas.

They come with a variety of toppings and fillings, including ricotta cheese, mozzarella, fresh tomatoes, and jalapeño sauce.

Its menu offers several specialty pizzas.

There’s the Star Luca, which is topped with ricotta cheese, spicy salami, mozzarella, tomato sauce, and basil.

There is also the Star Beckham, which is filled with ricotta cheese, bacon, onions, fresh tomatoes, ranch dressing, basil, and mozzarella.

The Star Michele offers a meatless option of ricotta cheese, mozzarella, tomato sauce, zucchini, spinach, and roasted peppers.

But the menu has much more to offer customers.

An antipasti and burrata bar is also available, featuring dishes such as Burrata e Italian balsamic glaze and Burrata e white truffle oil.

Everything is made with only top-quality ingredients.

“To us, Italy is synonymous with quality. At Mister O1 we focus on quality as well as simplicity to create a delicious product and our wine menu reflects this,” Viola said, per Culture Map Dallas.

Mister O1 also provides a selection of Italian wines, both red and white, which are available by the glass or bottle. Those looking for some fizz can order some sparkling wine or a glass of Peroni, a popular Italian beer.

As The Dallas Express reported, Smokin’ Oak Wood-Fired Pizza and Taproom also expanded into Dallas-Fort Worth earlier this year. This Minnesota-based franchise offers pizza and craft brews at the Stonebriar Centre in Frisco.
