Home Depot will soon speed up its efforts to hire new workers by making next-day offers for certain applicants. The company said that the “accelerated” hiring process is a part of its plan to bring on more than 100,000 new employees in time for the spring season, which is typically very busy for the retailer.

The company will be hosting a virtual Spring Career Day event on February 16, offering full-time, part-time, and flexible positions in sales, customer service, store support, freight, merchandising, and warehouse.

According to Home Depot, the company offers a wide range of health and personal benefits, including tuition reimbursement, company performance-based cash bonus programs, paid family leave, 401(k) savings plans, a discounted stock purchase program, and more.

Employees have received more than $1 billion in Success Sharing awards over the last three years.

“In today’s climate, job seekers are shopping for the best opportunity,” said Vice President of Global Talent Acquisition Eric Schelling in a press release. “At The Home Depot, they’ll find a company that offers much more than a job and a paycheck. Jobseekers will find a values-based company that invests in them with our Success Sharing bonus program and gives them the opportunity to grow, similar to the approximately 90% of our store leaders who started as hourly associates.”

Schelling stated that people looking for a job will find programs that improve skill sets and teach them skills like software development, data science, cyber security, marketing, and more.

Home Depot is accelerating its hiring process at a time when the number of job applicants seems to be dwindling. According to the Department of Labor Statistics, 4.3 million Americans quit their jobs in December, which was a decrease from November’s 4.5 million, but still a large number compared to pre-pandemic figures. The number of job openings at the end of December rose to 10.9 million.
