San Antonio-based retail giant H-E-B announced Wednesday that it plans to open a new location in North Fort Worth, reports NBC DFW.

The store will open on the northwest corner of Heritage Trace Parkway and North Riverside Drive. H-E-B tailors its product offerings specific to the geographic area of each store, so no two H-E-B locations are exactly the same, which sets the chain apart from competitors like Kroger, which has an existing store located just across the street from the new H-E-B location.

“The store, which is on the northern edge of Fort Worth, builds on the company’s longstanding presence in the area and reinforces its commitment to serve more customers in this dynamic and growing part of Texas,” reads a press release from H-E-B. “This H-E-B joins two Central Market locations, which have served Tarrant Co. for more than two decades.”

The new location is expected to open in 2024, with groundbreaking as early as November 16, according to WFAA. Developers noted that the construction would be part of a 30,000-square-foot food and entertainment destination.

Businesses nearby will include Torchy’s Tacos, CAVA, and Black Rifle coffee shop.

This comes after recent openings in Collin County and Mansfield. The grocery store already has locations in places such as Weatherford, Burleson, Waxahachie, Ennis, and Cleburne.

News of the Fort Worth H-E-B first leaked in June, when a property developer mentioned that H-E-B would be the anchor tenant in a new shopping center in Alliance Town Center. The developer quickly backtracked, however, saying that the grocery store’s location wasn’t confirmed. For months, H-E-B declined to comment, leaving everyone speculating.

Although the company has yet to announce new stores inside of Dallas County, land has been purchased in Dallas by the company at places such as Wheatland Rd, South Buckland Avenue, and Bowser Avenue.
