Firehouse Subs is offering a free sandwich to customers with a specific set of names as part of a one-day promotion tied to its newest menu item.
On Wednesday, May 6, anyone named Mike or a variation of the name — including Michael, Mikey, Miguel, Michelle, Michele, or Michaela — can receive a free medium Steak & Cheese Melt at participating locations across the United States. The company said customers may be asked to present a valid government-issued ID to confirm eligibility.
The promotion, which requires no purchase, is limited to one sandwich per qualifying guest and is available for in-restaurant orders only.
Firehouse Subs said the campaign is intended to introduce its Steak & Cheese Melt, which features flame-seared prime rib, provolone cheese, brown-sugar-caramelized onions, and red and green bell peppers, served on a top-cut roll.
Company president Mike Hancock said the giveaway also reflects both the leadership team and a lighthearted nod to a competitor.
“We’re proud of this sub – the prime rib, the caramelized onions, the top-cut roll. Once people try it, we think it earns its place among the best steak subs out there,” Hancock said. “Sharing it with every Mike in America felt like a great way to kick things off.”
The offer is valid only on May 6 at participating U.S. locations. Firehouse Subs operates more than 1,200 restaurants nationwide.
