American Airlines says it’s increasing flights to Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America, starting in December.
The Fort Worth-based airline will increase flight availability to those destinations by 10%, José A. Freig, vice president of operations and commercial for Mexico, the Caribbean, and Latin America, said in a news release.
Daily departures from Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) to seven Mexican destinations will increase to more than 50 daily departures, the airline said.
Those include:
- Service to Acapulco (ACA) will increase to three weekly flights;
- Huatulco (HUX) flights will expand to four weekly flights;
- Flights to Puerto Vallarta (PVR) will increase to four daily flights;
- Monterrey (MTY) and Los Cabos (SJD) service will increase to five daily flights;
- Service to Zacatecas (ZCL) and Zihuatanejo (ZIH) will expand to daily service
- A second daily service from Austin (AUS) to Mexico will start November 5.
“This coming winter we’re looking forward to adding more service to the destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean that our customers want to visit, including popular spots like Cancun, Montego Bay and Punta Cana, as well as our newest destination, Tortola,” Freig said.

American will operate more than 2,250 weekly flights to 90 destinations in the region, the airline said.
