North Texans wanting to get art-themed holiday shopping done can do so at the Art Mart this weekend. The event is hosted by the Friends of the Bath House Cultural Center, according to a press release from the City of Dallas.

Held annually in the city since 2003, this year will feature over 40 artists, including Cindy Kelley, Patricia Klamm, Marcela Mihaloglou, Jennifer Troice, Lisa Payne, Gail Delger, Sally Ackerman, Dana Brock, Beverly Ann Moore, Brianne Moore, Elisabeth Schalij, Terri Thoman, VET, Jay Gardner, Freddie Gardner, Héctor Terán, and Kenya Cole.

By showcasing a variety of work from these regional and local artists, the Art Mart offers a community-focused way to purchase gifts this year.

“The public will find gifts for their loved ones this holiday season, as they can explore unique and one-of-a-kind art and get into the spirit of supporting local artists and creative small businesses,” the press release shares. “Unique, handcrafted gifts include paintings, photographs, pottery, sculpture, fiber arts, ceramics, jewelry, glass art, and more.”

The Art Mart is free to attend and parking will also be free, according to the press release.

Funds raised by the Art Mart will benefit the artists involved in the event, as well as the Friends of the Bath House Cultural Center. The organization is a nonprofit focused on growing and developing multicultural arts in the city.

On Friday, November 18, there will be a kickoff to celebrate the start of the Art Mart, the cultural center’s website shares. It will last from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

“Art Mart visitors are invited to raise a glass of cheer to celebrate the kickoff of the Art Mart weekend and they also have a chance to become a Friend of the Bath House and take a first look at the artistic creations showcased in the Art Mart,” the website states.

The Art Mart will be open from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Music and food will also be featured.

The Bath House Cultural Center is an essential part of the visual arts community in Dallas, showcasing the work of local artists year-round, in addition to artists from around the world. Its galleries house solo exhibitions as well as popular annual group shows, including “El Corazón,” “ART214,” and “El Día de los Muertos” (The Day of the Dead).

The Bath House Cultural Center’s website shares that it also fosters creativity for artists and viewers alike through organizing gallery talks, artist lectures, demonstrations, workshops, and art sales.

There are three public art pieces near the center that visitors can also take in. These are Resaca by Bradford Graves, A Place to Perform by Linnea Glatt, and Whirl by John Christiansen. These pieces come from the City of Dallas Public Art Collection.

The Bath House Cultural Center can be found off Buckner Blvd. on E. Lawther.
