According to a report on CBS 11 News, a juvenile suspect has been arrested in connection to a gunfire incident that occurred near Garland High School on Friday, December 3.
The incident occurred at about 9 a.m. on Friday. Garland police responded to the 1200 block of West Avenue D after a report of an incident involving a weapon.
According to the CBS 11 News report, witnesses told officers that two groups of boys had an altercation, resulting in shots being fired near the high school, around the intersection of South 13th Street and West Avenue D.
The high school was put on a brief lockdown following the gunshot incident because of its proximity to the scene.
According to CBS 11 News, a 16-year-old boy has now been arrested in connection to the shooting. The 16-year-old is charged with unlawful carrying of a weapon and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
There were no reported injuries in connection with the incident.
