A man accused of firing shots at Garland police officers on Tuesday is now in custody, according to The Dallas Morning News.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Garland police were investigating the theft of a Toyota 4Runner seen near North Garland Avenue and Buckingham.

Aaron Quiroz Jr., who was reportedly driving the vehicle at the time, led officers on a chase to a nearby residential area before getting out of the car and firing at pursuing officers.

The officers took cover and did not fire back at him. No one was injured during the shooting incident.

According to a spokesperson for the department, Dallas and Garland PD officers made a joint effort to search for Quiroz after he fled into the neighborhood on foot.

The DMN has now reported that officers arrested Quiroz on Wednesday afternoon in the 500 block of Buckingham Road in Richardson.

He was being held at the Garland Jail as of Wednesday afternoon on two counts of aggravated assault against a public servant, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, evading arrest, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
