The Dallas Police Department is searching for a person accused of animal cruelty. Police suspect a shooter after the dog was spotted with gunshot wounds.

According to a report by CBS 11 News, a medium-sized dog was found loose in the 100 block of S. Murdeaux on November 12.

The black and brown dog, 6-month-old, was examined, and it was discovered that she had sustained an injury from a gunshot.

The dog received treatment for his wounds and, according to the CBS 11 News report, is expected to recover fully. The police are, however, seeking the perpetrator of the shooting.

Dallas police urge anyone with information about the injured animal to contact the department. Informants can call Detective H. Tamez at 214-671-0115.
