Another Monday means another edition of the Associated Press’ weekly men’s college basketball Top 25 Poll.

While Houston remains the top-ranked Texas-based team at the No.6 spot amid a 7-0 start, Baylor is hot on its heels, jumping to the top 10 at No.9. The Bears have won four games by double-digits and took first place in the NIT Season Tip-Off with a 95-91 win over Florida.

Texas and Texas A&M also remain in the rankings, but each fell after losses to UConn and Florida Atlantic, respectively.

The most significant change is Kansas dropping out of the No.1 spot after a loss to Marquette. The Jayhawks fell to No.5 while Purdue took over the top spot, and Marquette jumped to No.3. Arizona also benefited from the Kansas loss, moving up to No.2 after holding on for a win over Michigan State on Thanksgiving.

Michigan State is one of the teams dropping out of the poll this week after starting the year ranked fourth. Colorado, USC, Arkansas, and Virginia also fell out of the Top 25. Illinois and Villanova rejoined the Top 25 after not making the cut last week, while BYU, Oklahoma, and Colorado State made their first appearances in the rankings this season.

The Big 12 has the most ranked teams of any conference, with six (Kansas, Houston, Baylor, Texas, BYU, and Oklahoma).
