A woman, Deniz Saypinar, was prevented from boarding a flight because of her clothes. The American Airlines employees whose flight she had booked found her clothes offensive, which is a reason to deny boarding to passengers.
A professional bodybuilder from Turkey, Deniz, 28, was flying to Miami from DFW when she was delayed by the airline staff who flagged her attire as inappropriate.
The woman bodybuilder took to her Instagram with a detailed narration of the ordeal.
In her post, she had made it clear that while she wears feminine clothes that reveal her figure, she would never dress in an offensive manner. She went on to state that she is mature and civilized enough to distinguish between what she should or should not wear.
American Airlines has confirmed the incident in a statement. According to their spokesperson, “As stated in the conditions of carriage, all customers must dress appropriately, and offensive clothing isn’t permitted on board our flights. The customer was advised of our policy and was rebooked on a subsequent flight. The customer has since arrived in Miami.”
Saypinar is not the only passenger whose fashion style didn’t sit well with American Airlines staff. Back in April, there were reports that the company nearly banned a two-time cancer survivor from their flights because he wore a sweatshirt with an expletive on it.
