Officials are still searching for suspects in a homicide that the Dallas Police Department responded to Friday in the 3100 block of Chapel Creek Drive, as reported by The Dallas Express.

Adrian Elvir, 37, was shot and killed in an apparent attempted robbery, according to police.

Elvir and an unidentified man were outside an apartment complex when two men approached and began yelling something at them in English.

That’s when the men allegedly fired upon Elvir and the other man.

When officers arrived, one man, later identified as Elvir, was lying unresponsive on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The other man, whose name was not disclosed, was also shot but survived.

William Rojas-Sanchez witnessed the shooting and explained what he saw to FOX 4.

“I guess when he fell, they did another shot for William, but Adrian got it,” Selina Velazquez, a relative of Elvir, said while translating for Rojas-Sanchez.

Rojas-Sanchez told FOX 4 he believed the suspects fled in a white sedan, but police have not been able to confirm.

“He didn’t deserve to die like this. It’s unfair,” Velazquez told FOX 4. “We are never going to recover from this.”

Elvir is from Honduras and was a husband and father of 10. His youngest child is 6 months old. Seven of his children live in Honduras; the other three are in Texas.

Police have not yet released any more details and the suspects have not been identified.
