Dallas County Sheriff’s Office received an alert of a car accident that occurred Friday night just before 11 p.m., southbound on I-345 and Ross Avenue. The crash involved a FedEx semi-truck and a black Jeep Patriot. On getting to the crash scene, officers found the Jeep Patriot with significant front-end damage and the FedEx truck that was towing two box trailers with minor damage.

After investigation, Dallas Police found that the jeep crashed into the back of the semi-truck, causing the driver and two passengers in the jeep to be injured. They were all transferred to the hospital for treatment. One of them, a 29-year-old woman, was later pronounced dead at 11:23 p.m.

The driver of the jeep has been identified as 21-year-old Aspin LaShawn Jackson. She was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter for the fatal crash. Jackson received treatment at the hospital after sustaining injuries from the collision but was booked into jail after being released at approximately 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Sept 18.

Dallas PD did not release the name of the 29-year-old woman who died as a result of this accident. The condition of the surviving passenger has not been made known to the public.
