Golf is one of the events Dallas residents age 50 and over can compete in during the annual Golden Games.

Registration is underway for Dallas residents who want to compete in the annual Dallas Golden Games.

The Golden Games are part of the Dallas Park & Recreation Department, Senior Program Division. The Olympic-style competition focuses on Dallas locals who are age 50 and over of all fitness levels. The Golden Games will take place Sept. 18-25.

Senior athletes can select from basketball, cycling, golf, pickleball, swimming, table tennis, and track and field activities.

Registration is underway until Sept. 2. Participants must pay a $25 registration fee and an additional $3 per event. Athletes need to complete the online registration. All payments will be collected before the start of each event.

Some events require additional funds. There is a $20 event fee for cycling since it features 5K, 10K, and 20K road races. Golfers are asked to pay an additional $60 to cover green fees for 18 and 36 holes.

When participating in events requiring a partner for double events, each athlete’s name must appear on the registration form. It is suggested that partners list each other’s names on their forms.

The Golden Games begin at 11 a.m. on Sept. 14 with a Drive-Thru Opening Ceremony at the Samuell-Grand Aquatic Center.
