OBITUARY

Connie Earl Hale Jr.

FEBRUARY 29, 1928 – JUNE 10, 2021

Connie Earl Hale, Jr. of Dallas passed away on June tenth, Two Thousand Twenty One. Connie was born in Dallas, Texas on February 29, 1928, to Ursula Morrison and Connie Earl Hale, Sr. Connie grew up in Henderson, Texas before moving to Dallas where he attended Crozier Tech. It was there that he met and later married his high school sweetheart Doris McKelvey. They were together for 61 years, until her death in 2007. He was a member of two championship football teams. One at Crozier Tech and the other as co-captain of the team while serving in occupation duty with the 11th Airborne as a paratrooper in Hokkaido, Japan. Following his Army service, Connie returned to Dallas and graduated from SMU in 1951. He was employed by Arthur Andersen and later moved to Kansas City where he became Vice President of Yellow Transit Freight. While in Kansas City, he was elected to the Linwood School Board for 8 years. He moved his family back to Dallas in 1970 and began a career with Red Ball Motor Freight. Connie is survived by his sons Andrew and wife Nancy, David and wife Henrietta and daughter Stacey Hale Thoele, six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He is also survived by his special friend Bobbie Blesh, who provided love, companionship, and great care in his later years, her daughters, Sharon and Joy, and son Warren. Special thanks to Faith Presbyterian Hospice and Connie’s very special nurse, Stellah. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made in Connie’s honor to Faith Presbyterian Hospice. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June Fifteenth at 11:00am at Hillcrest Mausoleum and Memorial park on Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas.
