Obituary for Charles Robert Jackson

Charles Robert Jackson of Paris, Texas lost his battle with COVID on May 15, 2021 at the age of

85. Charlie was an amazing man by any standard. An SMU graduate and an all-American football player at SMU, where he still holds the record for longest interception return for touchdown. He was a standout sprinter in college at the Texas Relays. He went on to play professional football for the Chicago Cardinals and the Dallas Texans. Charlie loved the outdoors and playing golf with his friends and particularly his brother. He was an avid bird hunter, field trial competitor and judge. Charlie’s dogs won multiple Championships and he was inducted into the Bird Dog Hall of Fame.

Most importantly, Charlie was a devoted family man and friend. He loved his wife, children, grandchildren, siblings and many friends who held him in the highest regard. He was known for his generosity, integrity and his incredibly unique sense of humor.

His grandchildren, were a big part of his life. He loved attending their activities and spending time with them.
