Two children were killed, and a third was injured during a drive-by shooting on Sunday afternoon in a Fort Worth neighborhood, according to police.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s office identified the deceased victims as 5-year-old Rayshard Scott and 17-year-old Jamarrien Monroe.

An 18-month-old boy was also injured in the shooting but is expected to survive.

Fort Worth police said an unknown number of suspects drove by a home in the 8500 block of Steel Dust Drive, opened fire on the victims in the front yard, and then drove away. Police responded to the scene on the north side of the city, near Bailey Boswell Road and Saginaw Boulevard, and found the three victims at the residence.

They were transported to a local hospital, where the teen and the 5-year-old child died.

No further details of the case have been released, and the investigation is ongoing.

“We’re seeing a rise in violent crime across the country, and unfortunately, we’re seeing violent crime here in Fort Worth,” Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes said during a news conference. “But when you have children who are murdered completely senselessly, it adds just another level to that tragedy we’re all experiencing.”

Anyone with information on the incident is urged to call Fort Worth police at 817-392-4336.

Black on black crime. It’s the gun’s fault.

Maybe they would have thrown rocks at them if guns were not available, and still be alive today.

Lock them up and if they’re convicts please give them they death penalty. Treat them as if they murdered someone from another community.
