Two suspects were arrested on Tuesday after allegedly firing at police and leading them on a car chase through Fort Worth that ended in a crash in Haltom City.

The suspects, identified by authorities as Jessica Jean Jarvis and Eliseo Suarez Jr., both 23, allegedly fled on August 30 when police tried to pull them over for a traffic stop on suspicion of driving a stolen vehicle, Haltom City police said.

As Fort Worth police officers chased the suspects, Haltom City police were called to assist with the pursuit, officials said.

At some point during the chase, Haltom City police said one of the suspects began shooting a firearm at officers before their vehicle crashed at Interstate 820 and the bridge at 377 in Haltom City, police said.

Police said that Jarvis and Suarez fled the scene on foot after the crash but were apprehended shortly after.

Two weapons were recovered, according to police.

No officers were hurt in the chase or attempted shooting.

Police said Jarvis was driving and was arrested for an out-of-town warrant, the unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, and evading arrest.

Suarez was arrested and charged with three counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, evading arrest, and unauthorized possession of a firearm by a felon.

He was also arrested based on three outstanding felony warrants.

Fort Worth Police Chief Neil Noakes stated that flock cameras tipped police off to the suspects and their location during a press conference.

Flock cameras are placed at license plate level in certain high-traffic areas. The chief said flock cameras are able to detect license plates associated with wanted suspects or stolen vehicles.

Authorities stated that the investigation is still ongoing. Further charges against the two suspects could be pursued.
