A Boswell High School teacher is facing criticism after a social media video discussing her sexual orientation circulated online.
The video was first highlighted by the social media account Libs of TikTok and featured Boswell High School teacher and coach Abigale Freeman. According to the Boswell High School website, Freeman serves as both a teacher and coach at the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School District campus.
In the video, Freeman states, “I’m a lesbian high school math teacher living in Texas.”
Freeman discussed an interaction with a student: “I had a girl tell me I’m a role model,” she said, adding, “this lifestyle can be happy, healthy, and normalized.”

State Board Member Calls For Termination
The video prompted criticism from State Board of Education Member Brandon Hall, who argued that Freeman was using her position to promote a social message to students:
“This teacher crossed the line between education and indoctrination. She should be fired and lose her certification. Parents should be able to trust that their child will not be brainwashed at school by a teacher with a personal agenda to ‘come out’ and ‘normalize’ their personal lifestyle choices. We the people have had enough of this,” Hall told The Dallas Express.
Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD has confirmed that an investigation is underway:
“Regarding the recent social media post about Boswell High School by an employee, the District takes the enforcement of state laws and compliance with all State Board for Educator Certification (SBEC) policies seriously. We are fully investigating this situation and addressing it as a personnel matter,” EMSISD told The Dallas Express.
The district has not announced any disciplinary action involving Freeman as of publication.
The controversy comes amid increased scrutiny of educators’ social media activity and political expression. As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Fort Worth ISD reassigned former Western Hills High School Principal Shayma Alzubi pending an investigation after questions were raised regarding social media posts associated with her account.
