More than 16,000 Texas Future Farmers of America members and guests will converge on Cowtown for the 97th annual Texas FFA State Convention this week, infusing an estimated $18 million into the local economy.

The event will be held from June 30 to July 4, 2025, at the Fort Worth Convention Center. The nation’s largest state FFA association, with more than 182,000 members, will host a week of activities, including a keynote speech, workshops, career development events, and recognition ceremonies.

The convention will award over 150 scholarships totaling $2.3 million to outstanding graduating seniors. Students, many of whom wear signature blue corduroy jackets, will participate in programs that apply practical agricultural knowledge through competitions and leadership opportunities.

“Cowtown and Texas FFA are a perfect match, both rooted in rich agricultural traditions and strong community values,” said Ashley Dunkerley, a Texas FFA Association spokesperson, per Fort Worth Report.

The event, set to draw attendees to 40 hotels throughout the city, underscores Fort Worth’s appeal as a convention hub.

“Fort Worth continues to be a top choice for conventions because of our walkable downtown, authentic hospitality, and unique blend of Western heritage and modern amenities,” said Bob Jameson, president and CEO of Visit Fort Worth, according to FWR.

Robert Allen, president and CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, emphasized the convention’s role in showcasing the city to attract tourists and businesses.

“It’s a big business (and) it’s good business,” he said, noting the ongoing expansion of the convention center, set for completion in 2030, which could draw even larger gatherings, FWR reported.
