A 60-year-old man faces arrest in Tarrant County for allegedly impersonating an attorney to solicit money from families of jail inmates.

Investigators say Ramond Davis Jr. contacted inmates at the Tarrant County Jail and offered legal services, according to a news release from the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday.

Davis met with the inmates’ families and collected about $3,000 per case for fake legal representation, the release said.

Investigators confirmed Davis is not a licensed attorney. Authorities obtained an arrest warrant, executed it, and took Davis into custody.

Multiple charges are pending against Davis. The sheriff’s office believes additional victims may exist and is searching for them.

Anyone who may have been contacted or victimized should call the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office at (817) 884-1400 and ask for Investigator T. Johnson or V. Espino-Nevarez.
