A concert by the Eagles has prompted a high school in the Fort Worth area to find a new location for its prom, which was originally scheduled for Globe Life Field.
V.R. Eaton High School, part of the Northwest Independent School District, had scheduled its prom for May 16 at the Texas Rangers’ stadium.
Although the school signed a contract with the venue last year, it discovered the scheduling conflict through promotional emails rather than from the stadium itself.
In a letter to seniors, Principal Stacy Miles wrote that the school “[does] not currently have an equitable solution” to hold the event there.
“Trust me when I say that me, Mrs. Sirmons, and Mrs. Zeske are disappointed in the company’s response to us and disappointed to have to give you this news,” Miles said in a statement, Fox 4 KDFW reported.
Northwest ISD’s website calendar shows the prom has been rescheduled for the Hurst Convention Center from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
The Eagles perform at Globe Life Field on May 16 as part of their farewell tour.
Rev Entertainment, the stadium’s official events partner and booking agent, said it is coordinating with the school.
“We have been working with event organizers and have reached a resolution pending a new date. In coordination with the school, we are committed to providing an alternative experience at no expense to ensure all students have a memorable celebration,” Mat Mallian, senior director of marketing and communications for Rev Entertainment, said in an email, per WFAA.
