Some Tarrant County area Republican activists and political leaders are delegates to the Republican National Convention and they have been sharing their experiences with The Dallas Express.

“Being at the RNC is an amazing ‘bucket list’ experience where I get to witness history being made. Watched the great state of Texas cast their 161 delegate votes for Trump along with all other 49 states,” Fort Worth businesswoman Cheryl Bean told DX.

“In the room, walking the halls, and meeting many of America’s greatest patriots — I wanted to be an integral part of re-electing Trump and turning America back into the great country it has been and can be again,” she said.

Tarrant County Republican Chairman Bo French said that this year’s convention is not his first experience as a delegate.

“It is a great honor to represent Texas as a delegate to the Republican National Convention. I was here in 2016 when we nominated the greatest president ever, and we are going to do it again this year. Donald Trump will make America great again!” French told DX.

Republican precinct chair Rosalie Escobedo said there was a positive energy at the convention overriding the somberness from the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Saturday.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, a 20-year-old Pennsylvania man named Thomas Matthew Crooks fired a semiautomatic rifle at Trump several times, clipping the former president’s ear, killing a bystander, and seriously wounding two others. A Secret Service sniper killed Crooks after his gunshots rang out.

“The atmosphere is electric! The Texas delegation scuffed off the somberness of Saturday for the victorious energy of a Trump- Vance winning ticket!!! What the enemy meant for evil, Jesus meant for good, and that’s a landslide Trump-Vance victory, notwithstanding election integrity concerns,” Escobedo told DX.

Escobedo said she was grateful to be a delegate.

“I am honored that CD 24 sent me here as a delegate. It’s a great day to see history in the making. There is renewed hopefulness, celebration, and a bright, beautiful future for the USA on the horizon. We haven’t yeed our last haw. Praise Jesus!” Escobedo said.

As recently reported by The Dallas Express, Trump picked Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) as his running mate on Monday.
