Notable figures from Tarrant County have been reacting to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Trump was the victim of an apparent assassination attempt in Pennsylvania during a campaign rally on Saturday.

“The assassination attempt on President Trump’s life is the result of years of out-of-control rhetoric lodged by the left,” Texas House District 91 Republican nominee David Lowe told DX. “I hope and pray that the ongoing investigation by law enforcement is based solely on facts and is fully transparent because Americans deserve nothing less.”

Some local leaders thanked God for protecting Trump.

“I am extremely thankful that God protected Pres Trump from the evil attack on him last night, and I pray for the family and friends of those that were injured or did not survive. I also pray that this will be a wake-up call to ALL Americans to stop the vicious attacks on each other,” Fort Worth businesswoman Cheryl Bean texted DX.

“We are all children of God and Americans. We need to respect our right to have individual differences, or risk devouring ourselves from within. May God Bless America,” Bean added.

Carroll ISD Trustee Andrew Yeager had this to say:

“I pray for the innocent victims from the assassination attempt against President Trump in Butler, PA., yesterday. People should never be in harm’s way while attending an event to support their candidate.”

“Our country needs to embrace a culture of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness that would have prevented this tragedy. I wish President Trump a speedy recovery and am thankful for his leadership and steadfast resolve,” Yeager told DX.

Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare posted his reaction on Facebook:

“Thank God President Trump is ok. One bystander has been killed. Pray for their family and anyone else who is injured. The shooter was killed by Secret Service.

“Never has so much hatred been stirred up in our country by so many against one political leader. Not a single positive word is ever written or spoken about the man by many in the media.

“These same members of the media and many so-called leaders in our country are culpable for carrying out an 8+ year campaign of unbridled hatred towards this man, practically encouraging a homicidal lunatic to take the opportunity to become their hero. President Trump has a resilience that is beyond remarkable. And he will be the next President of the United States.”
