Keller is leading the rest of Tarrant County in early voting, with Keller Town Hall seeing the most voters.
Polling locations have experienced long lines during early voting, and nearly 1.2 million people have already cast their vote across several North Texas counties, such as Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, and Denton, reported Fox 4.
Voters are not surprised that Keller Town Hall has seen a high turnout.
“There’s a very limited area right here that’s very conservative,” said Keller resident Remonia Rosewell. “And right now, there’s so much difference in the conservatives and the liberals,” reported NBC 5.
Conservatives are going to the polls with local, state, and national issues on their minds.
“Inflation, taxes, it’s hard to live these days,” added Keller community member Deborah Wartelle. “So we need to get Republicans back in there, and more Americans are standing up,” reported NBC 5.
“Every time you got Trump on the ballot you tend to have record-breaking turnout,” Craig Murphy, a political consultant. “Because both sides are very moved to go and vote.”
Murphy stated there has been rapid growth in North Tarrant County, and most new voters have been Republicans, per NBC 5.
Experts expect that Tarrant County will break its record for the most votes cast in any election next week.
“In the past, there’s been some Republican skepticism about early voting, and Republicans have really preferred to vote on Election Day. But the Trump campaign has made a real point of emphasizing the value of early voting and getting those votes banked. That’s been something that Democrats have been talking about for 20 years now,” said Matthew Wilson, an SMU political scientist, reported Fox 4.
