Tarrant County Republican Chairman alleges that a Fort Worth ISD school is encouraging teachers to vote for Democrats.

“Hey @FortWorthISD is this illegal? Are you telling teachers to vote for democrats? Why are you handing these out to your teachers? Why are you putting them in your mailboxes?” Bo French posted on X.

The school that French was referring to was the Atwood McDonald Elementary School.

“Watchdog received the same information and was in the process of having a media outlet show up to the school that had these door hangers laying on the table of the mailroom at Atwood McDonald Elementary ready to be distributed to teacher’s mailboxes,” Fort Worth ISD Watchdog posted on Facebook.

“The door hangers were manufactured by the Tarrant County Democratic Party. Who delivered these door hangers is unknown. What is known is that this is illegal,” FWISD Watchdog continued on Facebook.

Watchdog contends that these actions need to be investigated.

“The Fort Worth ISD, who likes to conduct investigations, should be looking into this matter quickly. Was it the principal, Joyce Bowens Thomas who authorized the distribution of democratic door hangers? It’s an easy investigation. Start with Ms. Thomas and look at the video feed of who went into the mailroom with the door hangers,” FWISD Watchdog posted on Facebook.

Texas Ethics prohibits school districts from using resources to distribute flyers tied to an election.

“No matter how enthusiastic you are about an election, it is important to remember that the Texas Election Code prohibits the use of school district resources to produce or distribute political advertising in connection with an election,” the Texas Ethics Commission states on its website.

The Dallas Express reached out to Atwood McDonald Elementary but did not receive a response.
