Former Fort Worth ISD superintendent Dr. Angelica Ramsey is receiving a buyout equal to nearly $550,000, according to documents.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Dr. Ramsey resigned late September. The school board voted 8-1 to accept the resignation of the superintendent.

Parents and teachers lambasted Dr. Ramsey’s leadership in the build-up to the resignation. One concern was the reliability of the district’s transportation of children from home to class, which led to some students being late for arrival and missing instructional time.

“Is it okay for special needs students to miss every first period for an entire week? Because it is starting to be a real problem, and it’s not going away. We are now in ‘Ards’ where parents are saying this busing issue is causing a problem with our students,” FWISD science teacher Scott Blanco-Davis told the board.

Ramsey is on paid leave and will still receive her full salary of $335,000, plus benefits. Her final day of employment will be on August 30, 2025, reported CBS News.

The agreement states that she is to be paid for work outside the district as a consultant, employee and independent contractor.

It says she is to receive $48,539 for unused vacation, sick and personal leave, and of payments of $247,561 on October 1st and $247,561 by early 2025, reported CBS News.
