A Fort Worth rally for Democrat political figure Beto O’Rourke was briefly disrupted when Texas conservative activist Valentina Gomez tore up a Beto sign, prompting law enforcement to escort her out as attendees shouted.

In a post on X, Gomez claimed that an attendee holding a sign with the number “8647” — which some online commentators have linked to coded references about assassinating President Donald Trump — was deliberately placed in a prominent spot at the event.

The rally, held to protest the Texas redistricting process, featured O’Rourke alongside other Democrat politicians, including Tarrant County Commissioner Alisa Simmons and U.S. Rep. Marc Veasey.

Gomez’s X post also criticized O’Rourke’s political positions and past conduct.

Addressing the crowd, O’Rourke said, “Next time we win power we are going to drive that car like we stole it. We are going to legalize every dreamer, every dreamer’s parents, every hard-working American.”

Conservatives criticized the rally online. “Democrats know that deportations and an end to illegal immigration are popular with the public and yet they can’t help but campaign on ‘we’re gonna let them all in and give them citizenship,’” Robby Starbuck wrote on X. “What a gift to us for the midterms. Thanks Beto!”

The Dallas Express reached out to O’Rourke’s campaign for comment but did not receive a response.
