As part of Giving Tuesday, World Vision gifted each of the students at Trinity Basin Prep in Oak Cliff an educational Lego set.

World Vision is a non-profit humanitarian organization that works with communities and governments to help children and families create opportunities for a better future.

According to a FOX 4 News interview with Roberta Taylor, partner coordinator of World Vision, students were not the only beneficiaries. Teachers also got much-needed supplies from the non-profit through its mobile teacher resource center.

Taylor said the gifts for the teachers included filler paper, spirals, art kits, scissors, crayons, and pencil sharpeners. She said the initiative sought to relieve teachers of their responsibilities as some spend up to $500 a year in the process of filling up their students’ needs.

Taylor says that this Giving Tuesday, World Vision wanted to give back to the community. According to her, World Vision will be doubling every dollar given to the organization for Giving Tuesday.
