A new video posted on social media shows thousands of unlawful migrants preparing to enter the U.S. as the country continues to deal with a crisis at the southern border.

Auden B. Cabell, a citizen journalist, posted a video on X that purportedly shows thousands of unlawful migrants gathering to enter the U.S. through Eagle Pass, writing that there are people “coming from 28 different countries according to Border Patrol in the Del Rio Sector.”

“For the past several months, Eagle Pass was seeing on average 1,500 daily encounters from predominantly Venezuela and Central America,” Cabell added in the post before detailing the 28 different countries.

“What happened on Monday, December 18, when the Biden Administration set a daily record of 14,509 encounters and on Tuesday, December 19, at 14,127?” the post asks.

This elevated number of arrivals to the U.S. follows reports at the end of November that many unlawful migrants were being given GPS coordinates detailing where to enter along Texas’ southern border, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

Cabello also previously documented a BNSF Railway freight train with hundreds of unlawful migrants riding atop the cars, seemingly heading north to the U.S.-Mexico border.

The train was expected to travel from Irapuato, Guanajuato, about 200 miles northwest of Mexico City, to the border near Eagle Pass, Texas.

Gov. Greg Abbott has taken multiple steps to help manage the crisis, such as the launch of Operation Lone Star in March 2021.

This initiative is a joint operation between the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas National Guard to help the state manage the influx of unlawful migrants.

As part of Operation Lone Star, Abbott began flying unlawful migrants to sanctuary cities across the country, an escalation from his previous use of buses to transport people to these cities.

More than 120 unlawful migrants were flown to Chicago last week, with a spokesperson for the governor saying that it is due to Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson “failing to live up to his city’s ‘Welcoming City’ ordinance by targeting migrant buses from Texas.”

Since Operation Lone Star began, more than 85,000 unlawful migrants have been transported to sanctuary cities nationwide through various methods.

Additionally, Abbott stated in a press release sent to The Dallas Express that the Operation Lone Star initiative has led to the apprehension of more than 491,100 unlawful migrants, more than 37,800 criminal arrests, and the seizure of more than 450 million lethal doses of fentanyl.
