Gov. Greg Abbott sent more buses to the southern border to transport unlawful migrants to other cities after claiming the Biden administration cut razor wire at the border that was installed to deter unlawful crossings.

The situation at the border has been described as “beyond a disaster” as thousands of unlawful migrants continue to cross into the country on a daily basis, as reported by The Dallas Express.

Abbott directed the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) on Friday to “deploy additional buses to Eagle Pass and El Paso to assist these border communities overwhelmed and overrun by Presiden Joe Biden’s border crisis.”

The governor has been making headlines by busing unlawful migrants to cities across the nation, as reported by The Dallas Express.

“Texas communities like Eagle Pass and El Paso should not have to shoulder the unprecedented surge of illegal immigration caused by President Biden’s reckless open border policies,” Abbott said in a statement Friday. “I have directed the [TDEM] to deploy additional buses to send these migrants to self-declared sanctuary cities and provide much-needed relief to our overrun border towns.”

“Until President Biden upholds his constitutional duty to secure America’s southern border, Texas will continue to deploy as many buses as needed to relieve the strain caused by the surge of illegal crossings,” he said.

The move came after Abbott accused the Biden administration of cutting razor wire in Eagle Pass that was installed by the Texas government.

“Texas installed razor wire in Eagle Pass to stop illegal crossings,” he wrote on social media on Wednesday. “Today the Biden Admin CUT that wire, opening the floodgates to illegal immigrants.”

Abbott said he “immediately deployed more Texas National Guard to repel illegal crossings & install more razor wire.”

The federal government has been challenging the measures Texas has taken to limit unlawful migration. For instance, the Justice Department recently sued Texas over a series of buoys deployed on the Rio Grande, as reported by The Dallas Express.

The White House defended its record on border security, with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre saying recently, “The president has done more to secure the border and to deal with this issue of immigration than anybody else.”
