The grandmother of the 18-year-old gunman who allegedly carried out a mass shooting in Uvalde was released from the hospital on Tuesday.

“We are pleased to share some good news related to last month’s tragic shooting in Uvalde: The 66-year-old woman has been discharged,” the University Health in San Antonio Hospital tweeted.

A 10-year-old girl who was also injured in the shooting has been upgraded to good condition, according to the hospital.

Salvador Ramos, the grandson of Celia “Sally” Gonzales, allegedly shot her in the face at her residence on May 24 before he began shooting at Robb Elementary. Gonzales was able to make a call for assistance and was airlifted to the University Hospital in San Antonio.

She was initially in critical condition when she arrived at the hospital, then upgraded to fair, and in early June, her status improved to good.

Along with the 21 victims who died in the school shooting, at least 17 additional individuals suffered injuries from the mass shooting.

Gonzales’ husband, Roland Reyes, revealed to CNN last month that his wife had suffered gunshot wounds to the jaw and upper cheek and that she would require extensive reconstructive surgery at a hospital in San Antonio.

Gonzales underwent numerous surgeries, according to a statement on a GoFundMe page organized by her daughter Natalie Salazar.

“I am the daughter of Celia or, as most people call my mom, Sally,” stated Natalie Salazar. “We are deeply saddened with what happened on May 24. It has my family shaken to the core, especially my mom.”

The family had raised $37,945 as of Wednesday, with 722 donors. Salazar wrote that the money would go to hospital bills and bills at her mother’s home.
