On Monday, part of westbound Interstate 30 in Arlington was closed due to an accident involving a trailer transporting 90 head of cattle, according to police.

Around 3:30 a.m. on July 18, the driver of a semi-truck attempted to change lanes near Field Road. The semi-truck struck the side of the livestock truck, prompting it to roll over, the driver of the trailer told the police.

After the collision, the semi-truck driver did not stop. The cattle rig’s driver was not significantly injured, according to police.

Police confirmed that some of the cattle died as a result of the accident, but they did not have an exact number. As workers attempted to remove the livestock off the road, westbound I-30 traffic was confined to one lane.
