Texas Republican Congressman Brandon Gill says the public rarely sees Donald Trump’s “kind and personal” side—but he did.
In a post to X on Sunday, the freshman congressman revealed that President Trump sent a heartfelt letter congratulating him and his wife, Danielle, on the birth of their second child and first son, Winston Joseph Gill.
“This is the side of President Trump the media will never show you,” Gill wrote. “Last week, he sent Danielle and me an extremely kind and personal letter congratulating us on the birth of our first son, Winston. Thank you, President Trump. I’m incredibly grateful to fight for the people of TX26 to save our country, right alongside President Trump.”
Gill included a copy of the letter addressed to him in Washington and signed by Trump. Responding to her husband and the President, Danielle wrote, “Winston says thank you DJT.”

Gill, 36, was elected to represent Texas’ 26th Congressional District in 2024 with Trump’s endorsement. His wife, Danielle D’Souza Gill, is a commentator and author. She is the daughter of Dinesh D’Souza, a political filmmaker who received a presidential pardon from Trump in 2018.
Gill and his wife welcomed their son Winston on May 9. In an Instagram post that day, the congressman shared a photo of the family in a hospital bed, smiling with the newborn. “My wife Danielle and baby are happy and healthy! We are incredibly blessed,” he wrote.
The warm exchange between President Trump and Gill offered a rare glimpse into the personal touches the President is known to show behind the scenes—something Gill suggested the media often ignores.
