A 39-year-old mother from San Antonio is still missing after she disappeared over two weeks ago while on her way to work as a paralegal.
According to KENS 5, the last time anyone heard from Chrissy Powell was when she called her workplace in the early hours of July 5, letting them know that she was going to be late for work.
Shortly after 10:30 am, a doorbell camera caught a video of Powell rushing out of her residence, but she did not bring her phone or medication, which the police say she needs for a medical condition. Powell is the mother of a 3-year-old and a 12-year-old.
The San Antonio Police Department’s missing person unit is conducting an investigation and has issued a “be on the lookout” for Powell’s car, a black 2020 Nissan Rogue with the license plate number PYJ 8564. Powell lives in the Apple Creek area in northwest San Antonio.
Powell is 5’2″, 120 pounds, and has blond hair and brown eyes. On July 13, police were informed that Powell may have been in the area of Kerrville, 65 miles northwest of San Antonio.
Powell’s mother and friends have been reaching out through social media for any information concerning her disappearance. In a tweet, Powell’s mother, Claudia, asks the community to keep them in her prayers.
Family friend Lauren Leal stated that “the unknown is the scariest part.”
“It is fear in my mind right now,” she said. “It is hard to wrap our minds around where she might be, what could have happened.”
According to reports, Leal described Powell’s absence as “bizarre” and stated that it is not consistent with her friend’s personality for her to “simply vanish.”
Leal said, “All we want is for you to come home.”
San Antonio police have asked anyone with information related to Powell’s whereabouts to call the department’s Missing Persons Unit at 210-207-7660.
So far, there is no evidence of foul play.
