Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has announced the next Governor’s Small Business Summit will take place in Carthage on September 25. The day-long event at Panola College aims to connect entrepreneurs with the resources they need to start and grow their businesses.
The summit represents part of Abbott’s broader initiative to support Texas’ 3.5 million small businesses. These companies employ nearly half of all working Texans and drive the state’s economic growth.
“Small businesses are the driving force behind Texas’ thriving economy,” said Gov. Abbott. “With more than 3.5 million small businesses across Texas, employing nearly half of all working Texans, our state continues to lead in job creation and business expansion.”
The September 25 summit runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Panola College, located at 1109 W. Panola St. in Carthage.
Panel sessions will cover workforce recruitment, business scaling strategies, social media marketing, and the application of artificial intelligence. A fireside chat with local entrepreneurs rounds out the agenda.
Joe Esparza, Texas Workforce Commission Commissioner Representing Employers, will deliver additional remarks. The commission oversees workforce development programs throughout the state.
Registration costs $20 and includes all sessions, lunch, and complimentary professional headshots. Attendees can network with other business owners and meet experts offering actionable advice.
“I invite all small business owners and entrepreneurs to attend this Governor’s Small Business Summit or one in their region,” Abbott said. “Together, we will ensure that our small businesses continue to thrive as we build a stronger, more prosperous Texas than ever before.”
Two additional summits remain in 2025. A women-focused event occurs on October 23 in Denton, while veterans can attend a specialized summit on November 13 in Belton.
The Governor’s Texas Economic Development & Tourism Office also hosts online webinars throughout the year. Past recordings are available for entrepreneurs who are unable to attend in-person events.
