Texas Republican elected officials react to President Donald Trump being sworn into office and becoming the 47th President.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, President Donald Trump beamed with pride as he was inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States, marking his return to the White House for a second, non-consecutive term. Due to cold weather conditions, the ceremony took place indoors in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol.
Chief Justice John Roberts swore in President Trump. Trump’s wife, Melania, was by his side.
President Trump declared, “The golden age of America begins now,” signaling a new era for the nation. He emphasized that “the decline of America is over,” reflecting his vision for the country’s resurgence.
“Time to MAKE AMERICA HEALTHY AGAIN!” State Rep. Nate Schatzline said on X.
“Proud to be an American everyday—but even more so today,” former Texas GOP Chairman Matt Rinaldi posted on X.
“It is a new day in America. Donald Trump is now the President of the United States. Righting the ship is finally here. Strength, resolve, law and order, patriotism, freedom, and American exceptionalism have returned. May God bless the USA!” Tarrant County Judge Tim O’Hare told The Dallas Express.
However, not every elected official supported Trump’s inauguration.
“I will be in Washington, D.C., however, like the Honorable Michelle Obama, I will not be attending the inauguration,” Congressman Al Green wrote on X.
