When a 3-year-old girl from San Antonio went missing, the Texas Department of Public Safety issued an Amber Alert.
Aurora Bojorquez, age 3, was last seen in San Antonio in July. Authorities believe her 38-year-old biological mother, Amber Heaviland, took her in a white Dodge van. Texas DPS issued the alert just after 9 p.m. on August 21.
The missing girl is white, with brown hair and brown eyes. She stands 2 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 30 lbs. Heaviland is also white and has brown hair and blue eyes. She stands 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 130 lbs.
Authorities are asking the public to watch for a white 2013 Dodge Caravan with Texas license plate WFB 8035. If seen, residents should call 911.
Anyone with information on their whereabouts can also call the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office at 210-335-6000 or email the missing persons unit at [email protected].
Bojorquez was last seen near 7100 Oldham Dr., in northeast San Antonio, at 2 p.m. on July 7, according to the sheriff’s office.
Child Protective Services was investigating the girl’s welfare on August 21, and tried to interview Heaviland. But investigators could not find them at multiple “known addresses.”
“At this time investigators believe Amber Heaviland is intentionally avoiding law enforcement to prevent her child Aurora from being taken from her,” the sheriff’s office wrote. “Anyone who harbors or hides Aurora Rynn Bojorquez could face criminal charges.”
