Texas Rep. Brian Harrison is sounding the alarm on Texas A&M using state resources to support LGBTQ recruitment and retention efforts.

“Texas A&M is using state resources to ‘support departmental, college, and university efforts to recruit and retain gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered (LGBTQ) faculty and staff.’ Texans, is this what you want your tax dollars paying for?” Harrison (R-Midlothian) posted on X.

Harrison also pointed out how Texas A&M uses taxpayer resources to promote “transgenderism.”

“Read this! Texas A&M is using tax dollars to indoctrinate students and promote transgenderism. And they recently confirmed to my office that they are keeping these programs. Texans, should they get more of your money??” Harrison wrote on X.

The programs include “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Literatures,” Sex and Sexuality in History,” and “Seminar in Gender, Sexuality, and Performance,” as well as others.

Harrison’s posts have been met with reaction from the public.

“As the father of a sophomore at TAMU, that would be a hard, “Hell f’ing no!” (That’s about as polite as I can be on this issue.)” Bryan Cline responded on X.

“Defund them all!!!” social media user Aly wrote on X.

The Dallas Express reached out to Texas A&M for comment but did not receive a response.
