The Parker County Sheriff’s Office is seeking help from the public to locate a missing 14-year-old girl.

Carmalita Jene Peters, or “Carman,” was last seen at approximately 11:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 23, with friends at Shady Grove Park in Azle.

The teen had texted her father to tell him she was walking to a Dollar General store on Highway 51 North earlier that evening at approximately 8 p.m. Investigators speculate the girl was picked up from the Dollar General location at around 9:30 p.m. and given a ride to Shady Grove Park.

Family members said she “may have run off to be with friends.” Therefore, police classified her as a runaway.

Peters is described as having brown eyes, standing roughly 6 feet tall, and weighing about 160 pounds. She has cropped, shoulder-length, dark hair with some purple tint.

On the night she vanished, Peters was dressed in a black shirt, black shorts, and black running shoes.

Police encourage anyone with information about Peters’ whereabouts to call the Parker County Sheriff’s Office at 817-594-8845. Those who wish to leave anonymous tips can do so on the tip 411 page of the office’s website.

Information can also be submitted online to Crime Stoppers, or directly to its Parker County office in Weatherford by calling 817-599-555.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of as much as $1,000 to anyone who provided information that helped police bring Peters home.
