Pleasant weather is expected to persist across North Texas throughout the week with chances of showers here and there.
The National Weather Service in Fort Worth has predicted a quiet beginning to this week as temperatures rise. Temperatures remained in the high 70s and low 80s across the region for Monday, with a warming trend continuing into the week.
The NWS predicts “unsettled weather” for the rest of the week.
Rain chances will persist throughout the week, with a 20% chance of precipitation each day. Some of these storms have the potential to be strong or severe. However, NWS predicted that those fronts would remain east of the area.
Temperatures will continue to rise into the 80s and remain there throughout the week.
The agency said that a capping inversion might limit storm production in the region and added that some areas might not see rainfall. In addition, a risk of fire weather will be in place for areas west of Highway 281.
The NWS in Fort Worth told The Dallas Express that the DFW Metroplex would have the best chance of rain and showers to occur on Thursday but that those chances were only around 30 percent.
“Thursday and Friday have the potential to see a little bit more of the scattered nature of showers and thunderstorms,” said Matt Langfeld with the NWS in Fort Worth. “We’ll have to keep monitoring that Thursday-to-Friday timeframe.”
The chances of rain and storms will move east of the I-35 corridor on Friday with the arrival of a cold front. This cold front will drop temperatures into the high 60s and low 70s across the region for the weekend.
