Texas Democrats hit a new low as Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) insulted Governor Greg Abbott by referring to him as “Governor Hot Wheels” during a speech at a Human Rights Campaign event in Los Angeles on Saturday, March 22.
Abbott, who has used a wheelchair since a paralyzing accident in 1984, has been a strong conservative leader, fighting for border security, economic growth, and Texas values.
Crockett’s remark sparked immediate backlash from Republican leaders and disability advocates alike.
Texas Senator John Cornyn blasted the comment as “shameful and disgusting,” while Attorney General Ken Paxton called it “a despicable attack on a man who has dedicated his life to serving Texas.”
Rep. Randy Weber has announced plans to introduce a censure resolution against Crockett, calling her words “disrespectful and unbecoming of a U.S. Congresswoman.”
Meanwhile, Abbott has remained focused on his leadership, ignoring the insult and continuing his work to keep Texas strong.
While Crockett later attempted to justify her remark as a critique of Abbott’s policies, the damage was done. Many see it as another example of the left’s hypocrisy—preaching tolerance while engaging in personal attacks.
As Texans rally around their governor, the incident underscores the deepening divide in American politics, where respect and decency often take a backseat to partisan attacks.
Whether Crockett faces real consequences remains to be seen, but her words won’t be forgotten anytime soon.
