A 77-year-old man wanted for two counts of indecency with a child was arrested at the Texas-Mexico border on June 26.

As reported by CBS 11, Jesus Maria Velazquez Guerra, a Mexican citizen and lawful permanent U.S. resident was apprehended at the Anzalduas International Bridge.

Before Guerra’s arrest, an arrest warrant had been issued for him from Willacy County Sheriff’s Office. Aside from that active warrant, he also had an outstanding warrant for allegations from an incident that occurred earlier in the month.

Indecency with a child is a second-degree felony in the State of Texas, punishable by two to 20 years in prison.

Customs and Border Protection officers transferred Guerra to a Mission Police Department officer, who then took him to the county jail. It is unclear if he is represented by an attorney.

The details of the incidents leading to Guerra’s charges are unknown.
