(Texas Scorecard) – Texas Department of Public Safety troopers arrested two illegal aliens attempting to evade arrest on a private ranch, one of whom is a confirmed gang member.
On Monday, Texas DPS spokesperson Lt. Chris Olivarez announced that troopers caught the two illegal aliens on a private ranch in Kinney County on the South Texas border.
Upon the arrest, troopers identified Nery Flores Flores of Mexico as a confirmed Mexican mafia gang member. He was charged with criminal trespass and evading arrest.
Olivarez also revealed that Flores has been deported from the U.S. once already and is an aggravated felon wanted on an immigration violation. Flores had served 16 years in prison for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and was deported back to Mexico in 2020.
The other illegal alien, identified as Usvaldo Castaneda Loma, was charged with criminal trespass and evading arrest.
Kinney County Attorney Brent Smith posted that he looks forward to seeing both in court.
“I am grateful to DPS for apprehending these illegal alien criminals and protecting the residents of Kinney County. They came into the wrong County to find sanctuary from law enforcement,” said Smith. “Justice will be swiftly served and I look forward to seeing them in court.”
