A 20-year-old Frisco man was swimming in 10 feet of water with a pool noodle when he drowned at Lewisville Lake on Tuesday, according to a report by The Dallas Morning News.

Officers of the Colony Police Department responded to reports of a drowning at Hidden Cove Park on the lake at about 5 p.m on July 19.

The victim’s family told responding officers they had been swimming when the 20-year-old went underwater and did not resurface.

The Colony Fire Department Chief Scott Thompson told CBS 11 News that the victim had been in the beach area and was headed towards a buoy on the pool noodle when he fell into the lake and did not resurface.

The Colony and Lewisville Fire departments’ dive teams were called out after he went underwater. The teams recovered the man’s body less than one hour after the rescue operation began. Authorities did not disclose the victim’s identity.
