Irony: Crockett Skips Campaign Issues Page While Her Own “Issues” Make Headlines

As the March Democratic primary draws near, one intriguing detail stands out: U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s Senate campaign website is notably missing a standalone issues page detailing her positions. This makes her the only major candidate from either party’s primary without this critical component.

Crockett’s site includes a section describing her campaign rationale and philosophy, stating, “I’m running for the United States Senate because I believe Texas deserves a Senator who will be an independent voice for all 30 million Texans – not a rubber stamp or party line vote for Donald Trump.”

The page criticizes prior senators and references rural hospitals, public schools, jobs, and rising prices, but does not list specific policy planks or issue-by-issue stances.

Crockett’s Senate campaign website—devoid of any dedicated issues page—stands out as ironic for a candidate whose own “issues” have repeatedly made headlines. For reference, a few of the notable controversies previously detailed by The Dallas Express include:

  • A $3,047 lien on her Dallas condo
  • More than $110,000 in undisclosed personal debt
  • Unreported ownership stakes in over 25 business entities, spanning pharmaceutical and fossil fuel companies
  • Nearly $75,000 in donor-funded luxury travel and accommodations this year
  • Her widely condemned “Governor Hot Wheels” jab at Gov. Greg Abbott

By contrast, her Democratic primary opponent, state Rep. James Talarico of Austin, maintains a detailed “Issues” section with separate pages addressing topics such as health care, immigration and border security, energy, and antitrust enforcement.

On the Republican side, U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, and U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt each have issue-focused pages outlining their positions on border security, firearms policy, abortion, and other topics.

Crockett has expressed policy views in other forums.

In a recent candidate questionnaire published February 4, she expressed support for Medicare for All, expanding the U.S. Supreme Court, reinstating the previous corporate tax rate for large corporations, and creating carveouts to the Senate filibuster for voting rights, according to responses published by The Texas Tribune.

Still, those positions are not compiled into a centralized issues page on her campaign site, similar to her primary opponent’s or those of the leading Republican contenders.

The Democratic primary is expected to determine who will face the eventual Republican nominee in November in a race that could draw national attention. No Democrat has won statewide office in Texas since 1994.

The Dallas Express reached out to Crockett’s campaign to ask whether it plans to add a dedicated issues page before the Democratic primary, but did not receive a response before publication.
