Days after the horrific mass shooting that rocked the community of Allen last Saturday, fundraising efforts are underway to help the victims’ families.

Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT), a local non-profit organization, has established the Support for Allen Fund to collect donations for those impacted by the shooting at the Allen Premium Outlets Mall.

Money or gifts donated to CFT will be directed to other non-profit organizations that provide resources and assistance, such as mental health, grief, and trauma counseling for the victims, their families, and first responders.

On Sunday, Allen Mayor Ken Fulk announced that the City is providing crisis counseling and mental health services through a partnership with a local organization.

“If anyone is in need of counseling, the City of Allen is partnering with LifePath Systems to offer free support 24 hours, seven days a week. So if you’re interested in that counseling, please call their number, which is 972-422-5939,” said Fulk.

Multiple GoFundMe accounts have been set up to directly benefit the families affected by the shooting. These accounts have all been verified by the fundraising platform.

In a Facebook post, the Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple invited the public to attend group support sessions:

“In light of the tragedy that occurred in Allen, the Karya Siddhi Hanuman Temple (12030 Independence Parkway, Frisco) is offering Emotional Support Group everyday at 6:00PM from May 8th – 12th.”

“All are welcome. Please walk-in. No registration is required. Free to attend. KSHT joins the community in praying for the victims, their loved ones, and all those affected by this tragedy.”

The United States Department of Justice has also provided a list of resources for victims, which can be found here.
