Four people reportedly suffered burns in an electrical flash fire Monday morning at an unoccupied building in the Keller Independent School district.

According to Keller ISD, the accident happened while contractors were doing demolition work on an old building at the Parkview Elementary School campus, located in the 6900 block of Bayberry Drive in Fort Worth.

The structure under demolition is separate from the occupied school buildings currently on the site.

The four injured individuals were all contractors working on the demolition project. No school staff or students were injured.

One person was airlifted to the hospital in critical condition after sustaining burns in the incident, according to the Fort Worth Fire Department. Two other workers were transported by ambulance to the hospital. A fourth worker was treated at the scene and released.

The building, which was constructed in 1980, was slated for demolition after Keller ISD voters approved a plan for a new elementary school in 2019.
